Upcoming Events
Teacher Appreciation Week
May 4-8th
Show your Alcott teachers and support staff some love! On Monday, FOA will be providing breakfast for all the teachers, on Wednesday it will provide coffee and snacks, and on Friday FOA will have a taco lunch in the garden for staff. You and your child can show appreciation for teachers on by bringing in "fan mail" (in keeping with the Alcott Administration's planned theme of "A Night at the Oscars") for their teachers and support staff on Thursday. Look out for printable forms in your Room Parent email or grab an extra copy in the front office. Bring it (or any way you want to show your support) in for them on Thursday!
International Day
Tuesday May 7th, 3-4:30pm
International Day will take place on Thursday, May 7th from 3-4:30pm and all Alcott families, students, and faculty are welcome to attend! Come celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of Alcott families and students!
Spring Musical
May 14-16
Get ready to experience the magic of Alcott Elementary! Our talented middle schoolers have been working tirelessly to bring the whimsical world of Wonderland to life. From the frantic pace of the White Rabbit to the puzzling riddles of the Cheshire Cat, this year’s Spring Musical promises to be a vibrant, high-energy spectacle for the whole family.
Performance Dates

Bike to School Day
Friday May 15th
Take your favorite wheels to school on Friday, May 15th! Bikes and scooters can be stored on the playground during the school day and we'll have a parent volunteer on hand to watch them throughout the day. Please plan to bring your bike back home with you or arrange a trade with a friend if you've outgrown it. Donuts available for those who roll in! If you'd like to volunteer to bike-watch or have any questions, please reach out to Rob Weinstock ([email protected])

Community Outreach
Over the holidays, dozens of necessary household items including beds, kitchenware and toiletries were distributed to several families in need. They were overcome with emotion at your generosity and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We will be on the lookout for anything else they may need as they get settled in Chicago and will reach out again when they could use our help.
